War Eagle's uniqueness stems from its operational system. Two equal owners, with two completely separate locations, in two completely different states. Derek Randle and Keith Allison have been partners for about 10 years. Their system is complex, but seems to work perfectly. Allison, whose training facility is in the northwest Arkansas town of Pea Ridge, takes the puppies and younger dogs in for training. As they mature and reach a mid-level in their schooling, he turns them over to Randle who polishes them and gets them ready for the big leagues of "Duck Dog". "It works because of trust," said Randle who lives and trains in Miami, OK, at what many would argue is the finest retriever training facility in the country. Their uniqueness doesn't end there. Randle spent the first 10 plus years of his career as a Professor of Graphic Design and taught at a number of universities including the University of Tennessee. Allison's story is not much different as he began professionally as a Physical Therapist. "I loved Physical Therapy," said Allison, "but let's face it, other than playing sports professionally there's probably not much better than training dogs for a living.
